On October 27, 2017, Bernard De Baets was awarded the title of 'Profesor Invitado' at the Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de las Villas (UCLV), Santa Clara, Cuba. The honorific was given in recognition of his personal merits, his renowned scientific and academic career and his active cooperation with UCLV.
