On July 6, 2012, at the COST Green Engineering Camp (short for "Intelligent Use and Development of ICT to Increase Environmental Efficiency") in Plitvice, Croatia, the project proposal "Towards a European forest fire simulator" (J.M. Baetens, F. Van Coillie, R. De Wulf and B. De Baets) presented by Jan Baetens was ranked third out of 63 proposals.
