On July 2, 2015, Tarad Jwaid received the 2014 EUSFLAT Best PhD Thesis Award for his thesis "Semilinear and semiquadratic conjunctive aggregation functions" supervised by B. De Baets and H. De Meyer. The ceremony took place at the joint 16th World Congress of the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA) and the 9th Conference of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT) in Gijón, Asturias (Spain).
