In the margins of the annual endurance event the '100km Dodentocht' (http://www.dodentocht.be/en), which had its start this year on Friday, August 11, some of the research results of Steffie Van Nieuland, PhD student at KERMIT, were picked up by various media. More precisely, her conclusions regarding the dynamics of this event, which were based on a detailed analysis of the RFID tracking data collected from individual marchers during the editions 2009-2014, were included in several news items:
