On August 27, 2012, Willem Waegeman was awarded the Best Paper Award for his paper "An Analysis of Chaining in Multi-Label Classification" (K. Dembczyński, W. Waegeman and E. Hüllermeier) at the Twentieth European Conference on Artificial Intelligence held in Montpellier, France.
