On December 3, 2018, Raúl Pérez-Fernández was proclaimed winner of the 2018 Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado in the category Sciences of the University of Oviedo for PhD degrees obtained in the academic year 2016-2017. The award ceremony took place on January 28, 2019.
