KERMIT supports Belgian COVID-19 modelling efforts

Through the activities of Jan Baetens, KERMIT is part of the interuniversity COVID-19 modelling consortium that provides policy makers and governmental organisations with regularly updated predictions on the further spread of COVID-19 in Belgium. In addition, KERMIT is working on a full-fledged spatial COVID-19 model that allows to provide long-term forecasts at provincial and arrondissemental levels. Such a spatial model is especially useful to assess the impacts of local containment and mitigation measures and inform health care organisations. More information in Dutch can be found here.
