Former thesis student Shauny Van Hoye has won the BioLizard award for best master thesis in computational biology. His thesis entitled "Evolution and design of metabolic networks using quality-diversity optimization algorithms" explored the potential of the MAP-Elites algorithm for metabolic engineering. Shauny was supervised by Bernard De Baets and Michiel Stock, and guided by Kirsten Van Huffel.
