On May 11, 2024, Yuntian Wang successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis “The construction of overlap functions on complete lattices and interval-valued pre-overlap functions” at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Wuhan University, China. She was awarded the title of Doctor of Computational Mathematics. Yuntian was supervised by Bao-Qing Hu and Bernard De Baets.

Just two days later, on May 13, 2024, Lisheng Jiang defended his Ph.D. thesis “Decision models considering path dependence of inter-criterion tradeoffs for project deployment decisions” at Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. He was awarded the title of Doctor Management Science and Engineering. Lisheng was supervised by Huchang Liao and Bernard De Baets. Both Yuntian and Lisheng spent one year at KERMIT supported by the China Scholarship Council.
